You have now created your own world (Terabithia) and as a result you are now ruler. Like any ruler you have to keep your world and any people included motivated and informed of its ways and customs. Write an emotive speech to inspire your citizens about the life they can expect in your world.
For example:
- Convey the type of ruler you will be through your language (will you be a strict tyrant or will you be a compassionate, understanding leader?)
- Describe the purpose of your world (is it a place to escape, is it a place to nurture creativity or is it simply a place for fun?)
- Describe why you have included the different elements (structures, location, time, weather) in your world and their significance to the world as a whole.
- Will your world have certain jobs needed to be completed? (Will there be battles? Will you need to conduct hunts for food?)
The key to writing a speech is to use creative and emotive language, which provides inspiration to the people or animals apart of your world.
Watch these links from Lord of the Rings; the speeches are inspiring the people to fight for their land and freedom. Take note of the emotive and persuasive language.
